Il pr\u00e9sente un tronc unique.  Les branches s\u2019orientent vers le haut (orthotropie). Lorsque les branches s\u2019orientent vers le haut, les branches secondaires partent du bas des branches primaires et s\u2019orientent vers le haut, et ainsi de suite. Si toutefois une branche secondaire part du haut d\u2019une branche primaire, elle formera ce qu\u2019on appelle au jardin un \u00ab&nbsp;gourmand&nbsp;\u00bb, et aura valeur d\u2019un tronc (avec le risque d\u2019aspiration d\u2019une grande partie de s\u00e8ve). Sa croissance est rythmique. C&rsquo;est \u00e0 dire qu&rsquo;elle s&rsquo;arr\u00eate de mani\u00e8re r\u00e9guli\u00e8re.
